Officer Hamzy, we do not mourn the animal who murdered you, but we mourn you and celebrate your life. You are truly a hero. You and Sgt. Demonte’s sacrifice is painful reminder of the risks faced every single day, no matter where we work. It’s been a very tough year.
I wish to also honor your family, the one at work and especially those who know and love you best. So long as they keep you in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone from them, but it will not lessen the pain and sorrow.

Additionally, Officer Iurato, Thank God that animal didn’t get all of you, especially where you were able to end the rampage. I pray for a full and timely recovery. You have the respect of millions for your bravery and marksmanship. You saved the lives of every Officer who was on the way to assist at the scene. God Bless you, too, Brother.
