MOSCOW, Idaho — More details are being released from the FBI about the strategic actions taken by authorities to bring quadruple Idaho murderer suspect, Bryan Kohberger, into custody.

According to FOX 13 Seattle, an FBI surveillance team tracked Kohberger and his father on a cross-country road trip from Washington State to Pennsylvania and asked Indiana police to pull him over to gain video images of Kohberger’s face and hands, a law enforcement source told Fox News.

At the FBI’s request, officers began trailing Kohberger and his father, pulling them over twice in Indiana on Dec. 15. Authorities leaned heavily on DNA and genealogical evidence to initially identify Kohberger as a suspect, running traces found at the crime scene through a public database. Authorities then used genetic genealogy techniques to connect the DNA to Kohberger through his family members, CNN reported.

Kohberger is now being charged with four counts of first-degree murder in connection to the fatal Nov. 13 stabbings of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen.
