A Florida burglar nicknamed the “pooping perpetrator” was arrested by authorities after committing a dirty deed during a burglary.

On January 24, the 43-year-old suspect was arrested after Fort Myers police received reports of a “naked male” jumping into the Caloosahatchee River and recognized him as the suspect from a previous burglary.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, the man broke into a local Joe’s Crab Shack at around 2:30 a.m. on January 21. He stole several items and left a disgusting surprise for the restaurant owner.

“The male climbed through a small window. He broke and stole multiple items to include alcohol, then defecated on the floor prior to leaving,” police said.

The entire act, as well as the suspect’s face, was caught on the restaurant’s surveillance camera.

Two edited videos were shared on the department’s Facebook page on January 22 showing the suspect climbing through a window and casually walking behind the counter.

Facebook users joked about the “mad pooper,” with one person suggesting that police conduct DNA forensics testing on the evidence.

Another user joked: “I have felt like that from eating at that place.”

Three days after the heinous act, Detective Southwick and Officer Kelly Witt detained the suspect on the river and transported him to medics from their FMPD Marine Boat.

The man, identified as Nathan Long, admitted to police that he was indeed the “mad pooper” during an interviewer.

Long was then booked into the Lee County Jail.
