Troutman Pepper acknowledges cyberattack, says action was taken to ‘contain the threat’

Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders has confirmed that it was the target of a cyberattack Wednesday.
According to internal notices published by Above the Law, the cyberattack at first left employees without access to all network resources. Employees were advised Thursday that they could use their personal email and, if they came to the office, to connect to the guest wireless network.
Troutman Pepper confirmed the incident in a statement provided to Law.com.
“We can confirm that on Feb. 8 Troutman Pepper was a target of a cyberattack,” the statement said. “Following our established protocols, we took immediate action to contain the threat and inspect thoroughly before we restore systems access.”
The statement said the law firm had no indication that client data was compromised “at this time.”
