A “brave and honest” toddler recently gave a helping hand to police by informing officers that there was a fugitive hiding at a home in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, the honest child helped deputies locate the fugitive, 45-year-old Tina Hicks, who was wanted for drug charges and other outstanding warrants at the time.
When deputies searched the home, none of the adults would cooperate with police.
However, a toddler suddenly stood up with his hands on his hips and said: “It is good to be honest … we shouldn’t lie.”
He then informed deputies as to her whereabouts.
“She is inside the room next to the bathroom!” the toddler said.
Thanks to the “very brave and honest toddler,” deputies were able to find and arrest Hicks who was hiding in the bathroom.
She was served with two outstanding warrants on charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, as well as four outstanding warrants.
According to deputies, the child was visiting the home and was not in danger.
“He was healthy, intelligent and in no way appeared to be abused. He was just at the wrong place wrong time,” the sheriff’s department said in a Facebook post.
The Williamsburg Police Department and the Kentucky State Police also assisted in the arrest.
