Law firms don’t want to cut into their muscle. It was a feeding frenzy in 2021, and many law firms acknowledged they overhired, but I don’t think there’s a risk to reduce head count at law firms of 5-6%.

Layoffs may continue, but Biglaw firms will try to cut as few attorneys as possible, Vasquez said.
