In May, Las Vegas police responded to a chilling 9-1-1 call from a resident reporting an alleged extraterrestrial sighting in his backyard shortly after police witnessed an unidentified object falling from the sky.

The subsequent investigation by police yielded no definitive answers, leaving the bizarre encounter shrouded in mystery.

According to officials, on April 30, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer captured footage on his body camera of a bright, glowing object streaking through the sky. The sighting was corroborated by several individuals across eastern California, Nevada and Utah, according to the American Meteor Society.

Approximately 40 minutes later, a panicked resident placed a call to emergency services, reporting that a “creature” was staring at his family from their backyard.

The resident and his family had also witnessed an object fall from the sky prior to the encounter. The caller described the being as a towering figure with big, shiny eyes, a big mouth and an unmistakable “non-human” appearance.

“I swear to God this is not a joke, this is actually — we’re terrified,” the caller said, declaring that the being in question was “100% not human.”

LVMPD initially dispatched two officers to investigate the sighting.

“I’m so nervous right now,” one of the responding officers said enroute to the residence. “I have butterflies, bro.” The officer then added that people “saw a shooting star, and now these people say there’s aliens in their backyard.”

Body camera footage obtained by local media outlet 8 News Now documented the officers’ conversation with the family, who described the creature as a 10-foot-tall entity.

Furthermore, the officers revealed that one of their colleagues had witnessed an object falling from the sky before the call was made.

“I’m not going to BS you guys. One of my partners said they saw something fall out of the sky, too,” the officer told the residents. “So that’s why I’m kind of curious. Did you see anything land in your backyard?”

“I don’t believe in it, but what I saw right now, I do believe in it,” a witness proclaimed.

“You guys seem like legit scared, so I don’t blame you,” another officer replied.

“Hey, if those 9-foot beings come back, don’t call us alright?” an officer joked as he left the scene.

Extensive investigations ensued over the following days, as police interviewed witnesses and neighbors in search of any additional information or sightings. However, no concrete answers or explanations could be found, leaving the incident unresolved.

The Department of Defense, in a separate context, disclosed that it is currently tracking over 800 cases of “unidentified aerial phenomena,” commonly referred to as UFOs, from the past 27 years. Government officials have stated that between 2 and 5% of such cases can be explained.

Despite the lack of conclusive evidence, the Las Vegas family’s claim, coupled with the corroborating police sighting and the unidentified object crash, has left residents and authorities speculating the possibility of extraterrestrial activity.

The mysterious imprint found in the family’s backyard, as captured by drone footage, further deepens the intrigue surrounding the incident.

Representatives from nearby Creech and Nellis Air Force Bases have stated that they were not involved in the incident and directed inquiries to the local police.
