— Steve Cooke, senior partner of Slaughter and May, commenting on the Magic Circle firm’s goal of achieving socioeconomic diversity among its employees. As noted in the firm’s press release, about 18.8% of Slaughter’s employees firmwide, 10% of its attorneys, and 34% of its support staff are considered working class. Slaughter and May would like to increase those figures to 25%, 15%, and 40%. To do so, the firm may widen its recruitment net and offer more apprenticeships.
