DETROIT — Has your department transitioned to an electric fleet yet? General Motors is entering its electric era with its all-new Chevy Blazer EV PPV.

The “police-prepped” Blazer EV PPV, the first pursuit-rated, all-electric Chevy to come out in over 60 years of the company making first responder vehicles, is set for an early 2024 release. Pricing on the electric police pursuit model has not yet been announced, but Chevy has finalized other Blazer EV trim package prices. The 2LT AWD starts at $56,715, the RS AWD at $60,215 and the RS RWD at $61,790.

In a newly released video about the Blazer EV PPV, the motor company shows off its capabilities and specs from its police pursuit package, including:

  • Certified speedometer
  • Largest Ultium battery in its lineup
  • Keyless entry and contactless ignition
  • Rear camera mirror
  • Disabled back door handles
  • 400V DC fast charging, adding up to 71 miles of range in 10 minutes or 141 miles in 30 minutes
  • Heavy-duty suspension
  • Underbody skid plates
  • 20-inch steel wheels
  • 400V AWD system, capable of up to 498 hp and 531 lb-ft of instant torque
  • 105 kWh battery with an estimated range of 250 miles with traditional emergency equipment
  • Optimized weight distribution and low center of gravity to meet the driving demands of LE

The video also provides commentary from officers who have tested the vehicle and its efficiency to work in the field for law enforcement officers.
