— Matt Leggett, a partner in the public policy and law practice group at K&L Gates, in comments given to the National Law Journal on what the firm has been doing to prepare clients for a possible government shutdown. “Once you enter into the shutdown phase,” Leggett continued, “on top of helping a client navigate through what the shutdown itself means for them, you also are going to have to participate and be active in monitoring, if not trying to shape and influence, the resolution of the shutdown in order to protect your clients’ interests.”
