— Julie Jones, chair of Ropes & Gray and a member of the New York State Bar Association task force that created a plan for firms to protect their diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in the wake of the Supreme Court’s anti-affirmative action ruling that has been used as a basis to attack law firms’ DEI initiatives. As noted by Bloomberg Law, Paul Weiss attorneys Brad Karp (the firm’s chairman), Loretta Lynch (former US attorney general), and Jeh Johnson (former Homeland Security secretary), serve as co-chairs of the task force, and worked with about four dozen other Biglaw attorneys and law school deans to write a 93-page report suggesting ways law firms can legally attract and retain diverse talent.
