ETNA, Ohio — Intense body camera video shows Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers responding to the aftermath of a fatal bus crash.

The crash happened on Nov. 16 when a charter bus carrying high school students was rear-ended by a semi-truck on an interstate, WTRF reports. Six people were killed, including three students, and over a dozen were injured.

The initial crash caused a chain-reaction crash to occur, resulting in at least three vehicles catching fire due to the crash.

On Monday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol released body camera and dashcam video showing the aftermath of the crash.

Dashcam video shows flames coming from the semi-truck and an SUV as a trooper arrives at the scene. The video shows more first responders coming to help.

The video then switches to a trooper’s body cam, showing the trooper going inside the bus to search for victims with visible flames in the back.

The trooper can then be heard yelling, “Anyone here? Anyone?”

The footage then shows the trooper interacting with crash victims and good Samaritans who had stopped to assist. He seeks a headcount of the individuals aboard the bus. The officer proceeds toward the students, inquiring if any need medical attention.

In another body camera video, a trooper pulls up to the scene and asks if everyone is out of the vehicles involved. Bystanders at the scene frantically say “no,” and the trooper runs toward the SUV. The trooper and bystanders then pulled a person to safety.
