TUCSON, Ariz. — An officer has died following a vehicle collision, ABC15 Arizona reported.

Tucson Police Department Officer Adam Buckner, 31, was responding to a call for service on March 31 when the incident occurred. Another driver failed to stop at a red light and hit Buckner’s cruiser, according to the report.

Officers and bystanders rushed to provide first aid until the fire department arrived. Buckner was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the report.

The driver who hit Buckner suffered minor injuries. Police do not believe they were impaired, according to the report. No citations have been issued pending an investigation.
