John K. Williams

Sergeant John Williams suffered a fatal heart attack after responding to a shooting call in the 900 block of Boston Way.

The shooting occurred in an apartment and involved a 3-year-old victim. Sergeant Williams was on scene of the incident when he began to experience symptoms of a heart attack. He was transported to a local hospital where he passed away a short time later.

The child later died from the gunshot wound he suffered.

Sergeant Williams had served with the Coralville Police Department for 28 years. He is survived by his wife, four children, and one grandchild.
