Officers in Bountiful, Utah, along with a handful of local businesses, recently rolled up their sleeves to help a family pull weeds and remove trees on their property.

The Bountiful Police Department said on Facebook that it learned that the family had already put a considerable amount of work into the home, which was neglected, and needed help clearing out the yard. So the department stepped up and provided the labor to get the work done on July 15.

Several local businesses also showed up to help, providing a trailer with food and drinks to replenish the workers as well as assisting officers with clearing debris. One company even offered its tree trimming and removal services.

The family and police officers thanked True North Brain Center, Lucky7 Landscaping and Tree Service, Dorma Title, POSH Beauty Bar, InstaFreeze Meals, Goosehead Insurance and Dump It Pro for their involvement in the project.

“The whole event was a success thanks to their support,” police officials said. “We’re grateful for this community and their faith in us to follow through on a big project like this.”

The department uploaded a series of before and after photos on Facebook following the cleanup event.

One of the children of the homeowners responded to the post, thanking the police for their help: “Thank You, so much for coming out and Helping my Parents Home!! We really Appreciated your Help!! We are in the process of renovating the whole house and yard that really needed it. Thanks again!”

“Happy to do it. When I first met your mom, I put the offer out that if the time came to clean up, we’d be there! Thanks for reaching out!” Steve Davies of the department replied.
