On April 8, a police trooper was making his rounds in an area nearby Sunset Road and I-515 South when he noticed a group of motorists pulled over at the side of the road. At around 6:45 P.M., the trooper pulled over, too, and that’s when he noticed a severely injured biker on the ground.

Witnesses at the scene were attempting to render emergency medical aid on the biker while also calling for more help. Helpful motorists said they witnessed another driver in a vehicle driving extremely recklessly before striking the motorcycle rider from the rear.

As the biker was thrust off his motorcycle, the driver allegedly started to flee the scene. Other vehicles that attempted to stop or deter the motorist were met with arrows shooting from the suspect’s car.

The trooper alerted other police in the area who were able to track down the suspected driver. When the male suspect was pulled over, authorities said he was still armed with a bow and arrow. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with 1st-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence. The biker was taken to Sunrise Hospital in crucial condition, but he is expected to make a recovery.
