SAN JOSE — In a particularly violent weekend, three people were shot — one fatally — on Sunday, and a woman was killed by her boyfriend, who later died in a car crash, police said.

The Sunday evening shooting occurred in a parking lot on the 3000 block of Story Road, where police say one man was killed, one woman was nonfatally injured, and a third woman remains in the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. Police haven’t announced any arrests in that incident.

The shooting occurred around 8:50 p.m. Sunday, roughly 24 hours after a woman was found dead at a home on the 2300 block of Arden Way. Police say they quickly determined that her boyfriend had killed her, and then fled in a vehicle.

Before police could arrest the boyfriend, he crashed his car and died, authorities said.

None of the victims — including the name of the man suspected of killing his girlfriend — have been publicly identified. Police say they’re waiting to make sure all the decedents’ families are notified.

Police say anyone with information on the shooting can contact homicide investigators by emailing 4339@sanjoseca.gov and/or 4365@sanjoseca.gov, or by calling 408-277-5283. Anonymous tipsters can reach out by using the P3TIPS mobile app, calling the tip line at 408-947-STOP, or visiting www.siliconvalleycrimestoppers.org.
